§ 39.60. ANIMAL CONTROL WARDEN.

    (A) Classification: Part-time hourly.
    (B) The main responsibility of the Animal Control Warden is the control of stray and/or unattended dogs and cats within the city limits of Hillview, Kentucky.
    (1) He or she is responsible to see that all dogs and cats are licensed and have current rabies shots.
    (2) He or she is authorized to issue citations to violators in accordance with Ordinance 74.
    (a) First time offenders may be warned either verbally or in writing, at the discretion of the warden.
    (b) Second time offenders should be issued a citation for the specific offense.
    (3) The warden will maintain a daily log of all activities and the specific times of them. Keep accurate time of the hours he or she is on duty. Keep accurate listing and descriptions of all animals taken into custody (e.g., color, breed, size, and sex of animal).
    (4) He or she is responsible for the care, feeding and watering of all animals in his or her custody, and the cleaning and maintenance of the facilities.
    (5) He or she will keep an accurate count of all animals in custody and the length of time they remain in custody.
    (6) Any animal not claimed or otherwise disposed of within seven (7) days will be delivered to the Bullitt County Animal Pound. He or she will obtain a receipt for all animals from the pound representative and turn the receipt over to the City Clerk/Treasurer for record keeping. He or she will make an entry on the daily log of the number and description of these animals.
    (7) The warden will periodically patrol the entire city area. He or she will canvass, on a door-to-door basis, all animals in their possession and verify that they have a current city license and rabies shots.
